As I was perusing YouTube, I stumbled upon am interesting video. It was a video about a stealth video game, one where one would sneak around and remain hidden in order to accomplish an objective. There were two teams, mercs and spies. The mercs had a first person view while the spies had a third person view.
Now the question is, how did they accomplish the viewpoints of the character? Well, they happened to explain their techniques in this video. They simply strapped little Go Pro cameras to there head to simulate a first person view. For the third person view, it gets a little tricky. They had a big flying drone with a camera attached to fly behind and away from them to simulate the third person. It took precision piloting to make the footage stable and pleasurable to view.
In combination with a good story and great action sequences, it was enjoyable to view the simulated game mechanics but in real life.
